In addition to the preservation and improvement of the natural environment, the mission of Krkonoše National Park is to ensure ecologically viable tourism and recreation. Here, hiking has a long tradition. When hiking in KRNAP, you must pay heed to the rules that prohibit going off marked tourist routes, while in winter you must not ski outside the pole marking. Krkonoše is the birthplace of skiing in the Czech Republic and offers the most attractive terrain for downhill and cross-country skiing. In addition to traditional sports activities, you can experience and enjoy so much more, including, for example, snowtubing, snow-kiting, ice-climbing, paragliding, cycling, water sports and many more activities. In the KRNAP, it is possible to use boats without motors on the Jizera River and the Elbe at the Labská dam to Kukačka. The favourable period is in the spring, when there is plenty of water from the melting snow. Krkonoše is not only for the sports enthusiasts, but for all tourists and visitors.
